BANGKOK: -- The National Council for Peace and Order yesterday warned members of the public not to buy “gold” commemorative bank notes, saying the government has not issued them.

Colonel Piyapong Klinphan, spokesman of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), said the authorities had learned that the commemorative notes were made in China by some opportunists to cash in on the sorrow of Thais.

If the government catches these guys distributing fake commemorative banknotes  at this time of national mourning, they will receive little mercy.

they are readily located on ebay...

How much are they to buy and how many beers will they buy at "Happy Hour". That will test the true value.

Surely not a fake certificate of authenticity. In Thailand, never! Even the fakes are not authentic.

It's a Burmese scam or chinese or nigerian!!! No thai will ever do this!!! Thai people honest decent folks!!!

That would be a lese majeste offense would it not...?

If not counterfeit, defiantly some copyright infringements.

Anyone importing or selling them is likely to have the lot confiscated.

The problem will be is the will find a few low level sellers and parade them in front of the press ,

but like most things around the World ( not just Thailand )  Mr Big ,  who thought up this idea will be over on the sides counting his money ,

But making a banknote is bad enough , making one like this will get you DEAD ,

I hope they catch "MR  Big"

How will this be handled, will it be admitted that Thais are actually showing such disrespect and making money out of this ?

Yes, well done!
But you could have said the counterfeit note was the work of the red shirts and gained more popularity on the forum.

You may believe that to be the case, I don't.
