Yes, as a matter of fact I did, and the comment was made because the police should have been shutting down illegal gambling establishments but instead they were involved in their operations, as is often the case..

But thanks for the comment.;)

Why not show the names of those caught gambling???

Ohh stupid me, many of them caught probably were policemen :post-4641-1156693976:

Move them far away... One way to shut them up.

Obviously some people do not want them talking.

Had the BIB conducted this raid, the high ranking police officers who got caught with their pants down probably would have been slipped out the back door and into thin air.

I suppose the current military regime is expanding its powers to weed out corrupt police.  They aren't under the same chain of command, and, therefore,  less subject to internal influences.   EDIT: Unless, of course, army brass were busted.

In a bygone era, errant public officials were to banished to remote outposts such as Mae Hong Son as punishment.   It would be interesting to find out where the police chief transfers these five.

once again we see the army actually catching the gamblers in the den, something that never happened when the police were doing the raids, strange hey, anyone would think the police were involved in the gambling dens to have such a bad ratio of successful raids. Also have to wonder when the law is going to become more important than face so that the ones being transferred will be charged with criminal offences and jailed as well as have their ill gotten gains seized, imagine the millions that would be handed over to the govt if they did.

Why has Thailand got a police force?

cops own these places, or at least get a good cut from them. why would they raid them?

who do you think owns and protects the dens? they are easy to find.

I think you just answered the question as to why the Thai army was present at the raid and not the RTP. Somebody has to be seen upholding the law.

55555 the police forgot to give the army their cut, serves them right not sharing.

There has to be an investigation before charges can be made, jeez.

I do care, oh I do, but I got jealous you see, I guess I should give up on this whole democracy lark. Get with the program and make lots of new friends. Is there someone or somewhere I can go to get fully brainwashed.

Lots of vacant positions in and around Hut Yai, I'm sure the locals would appreciate an increase in numbers at the local station.

I've always wondered what the cops in "inactive" posts do to justify their salaries.

Perhaps they just sit around and play cards all day..........

Are you suggesting that cops are corrupt and the army is not??? Do you read the occasional bits on varying generals' wealth? Almost puts the cops to shame at their inept forms of corruption.......

Or you could just admit that you misinterpreted what he wrote and take it like a man, instead of throwing a hissy-fit.
