Need help for the extension of my Non-B Visa

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Currently, I have a Non-B Visa 1 Year, and it will expire on the 30th(Monday).

However, my school/employer decided to renew my contract for another year and I must renew the extension of my stay as well.

The issue is that, the documents that are needed to submit to the immigration for the extension of stay will be be completely ready before my visa/extension of stay expires (which is on Monday),  and it might take a couple of weeks more.

What can I do in my case? Can I proceed to apply for the renewal of my visa even if my documents are not yet complete?

Can I request for a special extension of stay while waiting for the documents of my school/employer to be ready and be applied for renewal of 1 year.

Cheers

You’re already wrong with the date. I don’t think that the Immigration will appreciate the fact that you show up on the 31st, while your visa expired on the 30th already.

I guess you’ve got an extension of stay and not a visa, but that’s irrelevant now.

When does your work permit expire? Or have you never had one, because you didn’t mention it?

What about a provisional teacher’s license from TCT?

But reading your post it seems that you need to apply for a work permit as well. I don’t think that any Immigration in Thailand would extend your visa without having the needed documents.

You wrote a couple of weeks more which looks like the time waiting for the provisional teacher’s license, is that right?

There’s a high possibility that you have to start over again and apply for a Non-B in Sawannakhet, or Vientiane.

There’s no “special extension", sorry. Ubonjoe will let you know what's up.

If your due date is a day immigration is closed, you can go the next business day they are open without penalty.

OP, you can apply for 7-day extension, 1,900 baht, which will give you some days to think what to do and you're not on overstay.

Terry, what I meant was that Immigration won't be happy and might ask the OP why he didn't show up the Friday before.

Hi,

My bad, it will expire on the 31st(Monday), I also have a work permit which will expire the same day, 31st.

As I have talked to some officer by calling "1111". I explained my situation and they informed me that, I can apply to renew my extension of stay on Friday even though my documents are not yet complete, with this case, I can request or inform the immigration that my documents are currently on process and will not be finished by 31st(Monday), with this case, they informed that, as long I applied for renewal before my extension of stay expire, and in my case the documents are not complete yet but are being prepared, that the immigration office will allow me for a special extension of stay without being "overstay" - they will some sort gonna give me a document that says "visa renewal on process/waiting for the remaining documents".

Does anyone has an experience with this?

I am about to renew my contract with the school, and my last day valid to stay is on 31st. However the documents needed for me to apply my extension of 1 year are not yet ready by 31st.

Can anyone call "1111" as well and talk fluently in thai for more understanding?

Thanks

This really urgent for me

    Hi Nix,

I don’t think it’s helpful when anybody with a better Thai calls this number and explains your situation. I hope that you’ve got your head teacher’s phone number and can contact her.

Not all Immigration offices follow the same rules, even when they should. But you’ll definitely need your new contract and other documents, the one that is issued from the educational area office your school belongs to seems to be very important.

But then you need somebody from your school who’s got a good connection to this educational area office.

Please be aware that all educational offices have one employee who works for Khurusapha, the teacher’s Council of Thailand. Such a letter means a lot and if the educational area office gives the green light, you should be good to go.

It’s finally up to your Immigration and the person with the highest rank will make a decision.

If you’re lucky and you can get all the documents together until Monday, they might close an eye and give you an extension. But that, I assume would usually work if somebody from your school comes with you.

If you have to apply for a new waiver letter or provisional teacher’s license, you could get that on Friday in Bangkok at the TCT, but only if you have all documents ready.

But it’s hopefully enough when you’ve submitted your documents if you can’t have the provisional TL on the same day, you can say that they’ll send it to you. Immigration can call TCT and proof it.

It's late and time for bed. Best of luck. Stay calm. Cheers.

I don't think immigration will do anything other than a 7 day extension based upon the info you supplied.

They might accept the application for the extension and do a 30 day under consideration stamp it you have most of the documents required. The most important thing would be a work permit renewal receipt.
