Visa waiver extension in Chiang Rai

Featured Replies

I didn't get much response in the CR sub so I wanted to try my luck here since there is also a general visa question:

Can someone confirm if this is the correct location for Chiang Rai immigration office for visa waiver extension? Do I just need to bring a passport and 1900 baht (US citizen). I have 2 weeks left on my VISA, is it okay to go now? Thank you!

According to the sometimes correct information at Immigration map, that is the right place.

Lots of information on Chiang Rai Immigration but most of us are on actual visas so may not be conversant on visa waiver extensions.

The website you linked is showing a photo that is not Muang Chiang Rai immigration and the map below and address you posted is the location of CR Immigration in Mae Sai.  If you are looking for Immigration in Muang Chiang Rai it is located on the bypass highway that links to CEI airport and is fairly easy to find.  When you do go to extend your visa exempt entry, make sure that you have a local address in case they ask where you are staying.
