webfact Posted October 27, 2016 Share Posted October 27, 2016 Police raid husband and wife at Koh Phangan tattoo shop on lese majeste charge Picture: Thairath HAT RIN: -- Police raided a tattoo shop in Hat Rin, Koh Phangan yesterday and arrested a husband and wife on charges of defaming the monarchy. They were named as Bank, 33, and Dear, 27, and were reported after comments appeared on their page on Facebook. They were reported by a neighbor, reports Thairath. They deny making any comments. Police found an air rifle, a computer and three mobile phones that were all taken in as evidence. Dear said that they had not made the comments. She said that she was someone who loved the monarchy. She said that a friend had contacted her on Facebook earlier in the day to say that inappropriate comments had appeared on a fake page using her name and profile. She did not know who it was, she claimed. She said she was shocked to discover this. The pair were interviewed at Koh Phangan police station. Police are calling in IT experts from the mainland to determine if the couple are in fact responsible for the posts. If they are they will face charges under Article 112 that deals with defaming the monarchy.
