Jomtien residents complain about slow roadwork

The replacement of sewer and drainage pipes on Soi Boonkanchanaram is less than 60 percent completed.

PATTAYA:-- A month after the project was supposed to have been completed, the replacement of sewer and drainage pipes on Soi Boonkanchanaram is drawing complaints from residents.

Those living near the Grand Jomtien Hotel said Oct. 19 that the project promised 2×2-meter culvert boxes and 0.60×2-meter pipes to manage the sewage along a 75-meter stretch, but this has not been completed.

The 61.2-million-baht job began on Jan. 7 and was supposed to be done by Sept. 12.

Siritorn Rakangthong, operations manager for contractor PSI Engineering Ltd., admitted that the company has only completed less than 60 percent of the work.

Pass the hat. Hire your own manager. Money makes things move here but not government money. It shrinks due to the trickle down effect here. Carrying charges, miscellaneous charges, mia noi charges, car dealer ship charges the list is endless.

This has been such a mess, and the road work

on Second Rroad in from ot the marker isn't

much better.

We had a nice lake started in front of Jomtien Beach Condo entrance on Beach Road. Water extended over to Villa Navin and towards construction in such a way that unless you wanted to wade, you were stuck. Some guys pumped it out last week (amazing). In Bangkok now so unsure how looks currently.

and now the big plan is to bring in 235 boats on trailers pulled behind pickups. should make for interesting times in the mornings and evenings.

We don't normally have "floodwater" outside Jomtien Beach Condos, but the work at Soi watboon has caused the flood. The drainage system has been cut off at Soi Watboon, so the water on the Beach Road cannot escape. It is in fact a mixture of "waste" water coming up from the drains, rather than just rain water that cannot drain away.  It is a health hazard.

It must be very confusing for them not being able to figure out where to drain the water to on Beach Rd,

This "waste water" is in fact a mixture of sewerage and waste water....you can  definitely smell the sewerage as you travel along Beach Road. An absolute health hazard..and it's being lying on Beach Road for weeks.

I see now that a barge and pile driving equipment along with a long boomed digger has been anchored  in the sea a short distance directly out out from the main earthworks.

Any guesses as to where the "so called" waste water is now going to be discharged once the job is completed?...Yep 50 yards off the beach......!!!!...going to be a horrible  smell  wafting onshore when the breeze gets up...let alone swimming amongst turds

I have no idea...I am not a resident of Jomtien just a visitor over the past few weeks...do you know where it was being discharged before?........
