Hello,

 

I need to convert my 30 days Visa exempt to a NON O based on marriage.

 

At the moment I am living close to Nakhon Chai Si so I called the immigration office here and they told me they can do it as long as I have 15 days left on my visa.

They asked the usual documents: marriage certificate, proof of funds, proof of address.

There was no mention of proof of funds coming from abroad.

 

I currently have a Bangkok Bank account with 400k in it that is a mix of old funds plus some cash I took with me from Europe and exchanged/deposited here.

So there is no way i can prove that all the 400k came from abroad.

My question is:

is this letter 'proof of transfer' really required/requested for the conversion?

It is entirely up to the office processing the visa/entry.

The proof the funds came from abroad is not required for the visa application. That is only needed for one based upon retirement.
