Foreigners seek bail after warrant less raid on overstay

BANGKOK — At least six foreigners were seeking bail Monday after spending the weekend behind bars following a raid on a Bangkok guesthouse and music venue.

PM says the government will try to make farmers earn 10,000 baht/tonne of paddy

BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha said the government would try its best to ensure that rice farmers get an average of 10,000 baht for a tonne of paddy they sell, but, at the same time, he begged for understanding for farmers that the government had to take care of people throughout the country and not just farmers.

Rice board agrees on 11,525 baht/tonne for Hom Mali grains

BANGKOK: -- The Rice Policy and Management Committee or the rice board has agreed to let the Bank of Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) to extend credits to rice farmers so that they withhold their crops from being sold to millers and, instead, keep their in storage to prevent market dumping which will further suppress rice price.

3 groups of people are held accountable for 80% loss from rice scheme
