A standard 6 kg bird was around 1000 Baht. The Central Food Hall and other places around town that used to stock them charged more, up to 250 Baht/kg. Now the price is apparently 475 Baht/kg, so a 6 kg bird will set you back 2850 Baht, or over sixty quid at today's exchange rate. I was back in the UK last month and my local Tesco had frozen turkeys around the 6kg mark on sale for £19, so it seems you'll pay an eye-watering 200%+ mark-up to get a turkey in Pattaya this year. Still, at least it seems you can get it if you're willing to pay for it.

Yes, that's what Pattaya is all about. I hear you can also get turkeys too.
gk10002000
Didn't I read a few years ago that the falang fellow who had the big turkey farm up country was pushed off his land, or had it confiscated or something like that? But I don't know if he supplied the frozen market also or if his place stayed in business. Edited November 8, 2016 by Rimmer Font size

Torrens54
I saw an advert in Rimping (on the Ping River ) Thursday, here in CNX saying it was "Time To Order Turkeys." Wife was in a hurry so didn't follow up on it.
