Thailand and Japan sign ROD on irrigation technology exchange

BANGKOK,  8 November 2016 (NNT) – The Royal Irrigation Department has signed a Record of Discussion (ROD) with Japan’s Rural Development Bureau on Irrigation and Drainage Technology Exchange during a World Irrigation Forum session.

The Royal Irrigation Department (RID) Director-General Sanchai Ketworrachai and the Japanese Rural Development Bureau (RDB) representative Takashi Muromoto have signed a Record of Discussion in the field of Irrigation and Drainage Technology Exchange during the second World Irrigation Forum (WIF) and the 67th International Executive Council (IEC) Meeting in Chiang Mai province.

The agreement is a progress from the Memorandum of Intent (MOI) earlier signed between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and Japan on the promotion of agriculture and the related fields which include irrigation and water management.

The RID and RDB have mutually established the Term of Reference for cooperation in water management and irrigation through exchanges of technology alongside water resources development and integrated water management for agriculture and disaster prevention.

The Japanese counterpart has urged Thailand to modernize its irrigation system by implementing the flexible water management approach through this cooperation.

Enough of this signing record and memo crap

How about doing something useful or is a meeting required overseas to think about that
