Tak logistics operators to explore routes to Myanmar's Yangon next month

TAK, 8 November 2016, (NNT) - Tak Transportation Association will discuss the direction of local logistics business in the era of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) during the the annual meeting scheduled for December 1st.

The association indicated that Dr. Thongyu Kongkan of the Thai Federation on Logistics will hold talks on the future of logistics in Tak's Mae Sot district at the meeting, which will be held at Centara Mae Sot Resort.

According to the organizers, the annual meeting would inform members of the association and interested parties of logistics routes to Myanmar, particularly the ones from Mae Sot to key destinations including Yangon. In addition, various logistics related products from manufacturing and insurance companies will be showcased at the venue.

In order to help its members familiarize themselves with the routes, the association on December 2nd - 8th will organize a caravan trip exploring the passages from Mae Sot to Yangon. During the trip, participants will attend a meeting with an association related to international logistics in Myanmar, at Sule Shangri-La Hotel in Yangon.

The Thai government in late 2014 announced a plan to establish a special economic zone in Mae Sot district. According to Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha's national televised address on January 23rd, 2015, the government’s policy on the establishment of special economic zones would promote connectivity and regional economic development on a sustainable basis.
