December 2, 200619 yr Does the 90 day count begin on Oct 1st OR begining on the first entry stamp in the month of Oct? BR
December 2, 200619 yr The law came into effect on October 1st. So the 'count' will start with the first entry stamp after that date. If you went on a visa run on October 1st, then the 90 days will be up on December 30th. Visa run on 30th September, that visa does not count so your 90 days will be up on the 29th January ('count' starts on October 29th, September visa run does not count). That is my understanding of the new law.
December 2, 200619 yr I dont think anyone here oficially knows that answer (including thai immigration) but most of us believe that the count will start from you first entry after Oct 1, so the days you sepnd in Thailand after Oct 1 from an entry before Oct 1 will not count. Well this is what many people hope to be the case, but we will all know in afew weeks time..................... Hopefully those people who did their visa runs at the end of Sept will get to stay here into January..............
December 2, 200619 yr Author That's what I'm hoping for too. It's sad that the higher-ups are so ambiguous aboutt the timing. BR
