BANGKOK: -- POLICE HAVE stepped up security at the United States Embassy and other significant sites after protests were held against the results of the US presidential election.

Police spokesman Pol General Dejnarong Sutthicharnbancha said yesterday that although protests had not taken place in Thailand, police did not wish to take a risk.

A protest at the embassy will be a protest against democracy. Go figure!

In the US freedom of expression

In Thailand freedom of suppression.

Did you check, lately, what democracy really means?

Voting is only a small part of democracy.

And in most so-called democratic countries said democracy has degenerated to a periodical voting circus while the real powers do whatever they want to do, about you and to you.

I gather it is the same in the US and Europe.

The fact people are allowed to demonstrate, sir, is an expression of democracy, however botched or organised.

Protests are democracy a sign that democracy is alive and well well for now anyways.

I just hope it does not reach Dev Con 3

A guy on CNN said that these protests were not unusual. He said that Hubert Humphries had the same thing years ago.

He also said that many of the people who you see protesting are professional protesters and they have no interest on the reason why. They are just there to get in on the looting and violence.

Same thing in the Uk,and the USA i guess

CNN is in it for the money. They make up stories to get people to watch their TV shows and click on their web site. They try to follow Rupert Murdoch's model, but they aren't as much in touch with ordinary people as he is (and Roger Ailes was), so they don't succeed as well as he does. Pushing Trump helped their revenue this year, but they're losing ground so probably a few more years somebody will buy them out and maybe run a more sensible operation. There usually isn't any violence or looting at protests in the U.S.
