What evidence is there that China poses a "global" threat?  It seems to me that China's agenda is to control Asia and secure its sources of raw material.  Is that different than the US?  Is that unexpected from such a powerful country?  To take it a step further, who is going to stop them?  The only thing that surprises me is their long term view and patience.

The concern is their building of military bases in disputed areas in the South China Seas.  Places where they could (and have) limited access.  This potentially could disrupt shipping, etc.  Thus, creating a "global" threat economically.  Don't think the US has ever built a base illegally on some other countries land and then built a military base?  And from that base, chased off others? LOL
