Gen. Prayut Plays Down Trump Comparisons

BANGKOK — Gen. Prayuth Chan-ocha played down comparisons between him and Donald Trump on Tuesday, saying that while he may not be a politician like the U.S. president-elect, he is a straight shooter.

 

Asked about comparisons made between the two since the Republican’s election last week, the junta leader responded by launching into a lengthy discourse about himself and his style Tuesday at Government House.

Donald Trump is far from a straight shooter. He is a psychopath (all of whom are liars) who uses his money and position to abuse women. I hope Prayut is not the same.

Erm, just one SMALL point for as much as I dislike Trump, and Hilliary for that matter, he actually stood for election.

Both continually make u- turns.

         No General, Trump is no more a politician than you are. He did however get to where he is by legitimate means which is more than can be said for yourself.

Trump was elected by the people, Prayut stole his position by force of arms, Big difference.

I don't comment on Thai politics these days, but it's better not compare yourself as similar to trump. The election of the demagogue trump is an embarrassment to most Americans. He's the most unpopular presidential candidate to win the presidency in U.S. history and he didn't even win the most votes.

Yes another major difference between the two as Prayut doesn't have to worry about a ' most unpopular candidate ' tag since he never bothered with anything so trivial an an election.

Of all usa eligible voters in the Trump Clinton race .....46% did NOT vote at all. What does that tell you about voter belief in hope and change 2??

Let's wait for Trump's cabinet picks....that will tell you something about hope and change or 911 reinvestigation.

Big difference is that we know for a fact it's gonna be '4 years' 'til the American people have the chance to vote Trump out. How long 'til the Thai people have the chance to vote Prayut out?

Trump has brains. Debatable. 

Trump is a business man. Yes, but often, not a good one.

Trump is elected. Yes, but by a minority vote and not the majority vote. Legal coup.

And he won it by using twitter by standing up to the entire elitist establishment: Bankers, Media, Movie and high tech industry.  Actually he has more in common with somebody the junta fears. 

In Australia we say that a man who thinks like that has his hand on it! Just flogging it as it feels better, with maybe a picture of Mr Trumps wife for guidance. Its like saying he is making Chinese eyes again.

Just pee this guy off and he will show you how straight he shoots. Its a good comparison. They should do a much badder or much better poll here it would be interesting. That the world is encountering these types of personalities is not a good sign and very disturbing. It is a stealth coup of the populous. We the retired and expats can sit on the sidelines and spur on the working (if they are lucky) retirement hopefuls in the world but by the time you get to where we are the cupboard will be sadly bare. We are the lucky ones we barely got out by the skin of our teeth.
