I have searched this topic and found the answers inconclusive. Some say it is required and some not and others say it depends on the posters situation and location. I am hoping to get an answer as to whether I have to submit one in my particular situation, and if so, how to go about it.

- On retirement extensions for about 4 years.

- Leasing a condo in BKK for just over a year with both my name and Thai gf name on lease

- Condo is owned by a Thai individual whom I have never met in person but have only dealt with a rental agent.

- Lived in condo at the time I completed my last Extension of Stay December 2015

- Consistently reported this address on all 90 day reports.

- Left for overseas trip in September and returned 14 November, filling address on TM6

- Condo owner or agent would have no knowledge of my departure or return

Do I have to complete a TM30 myself and if so, do I need to make a trip to Chaeng Wattana to submit? It would seem ridiculous to have to pay for return taxi fare to submit this information to them when my residence has not changed and I confirmed that on my TM6 on arrival! Also, since I arrived on Monday 14 Nov., I would already be late if this must be done within 24 hours as some have suggested, so what would the consequences of that be?

Also, I will be travelling to the north on several trips of a week or two each starting in December, and staying in hotels. Will I need to complete a TM30 when I return from each of these trips?

Or is it the condo owner or agent who is responsible for submitting the TM30? Difficult for them when they don't know my comings and goings!

Chaeng Wattana immigration will not ask you for a TM30 form unless you were to change your permanent address.

Interesting, would this mean that if I visit and stay with my wife's family in a condo in Bangkok (my permanent residence is in Sattahip) they would not require a TM30 or does it only apply to those permanently living in Bangkok.

I replied specifically to his question and for what Chaeng Wattana immigration will want.

There would really be no reason to do the TM30 report for your visit. Immigration would have no way of knowing you had done the visit.

Thanks Joe, that is a relief!

It is too bad they didn't have a consistent policy throughout the country, as well as with other immigration-related issues. But sadly, progress seems to move at a snail's pace here.

But this certainly does only apply to stays at other locations in the kingdom and not once you left the country for a few days, right ?

The other offices should be doing what CW does since that is the intent of the clause as written in the immigration act. A report is only needed when you first arrive at a residence.

I think I answered your question in my post.
