Don't suppose that pointing out 3.30am is somewhat passed the designated closing time for entertainment venues even in the "entertainment precinct" will raise an eyebrow with the current authorities.

PATAYA: -- At 3am, on the morning of November 17, Pattaya rescue services raced to Walking Street after receiving reports of a fire at the Natcha Disco.

Three fire appliances were on the scene as over one-hundred customers had escaped the blaze.

Police officers closed the road but fire-fighters soon discovered the problem had been tackled by Nathca security staff using fire extinguishers.

Witnesses said that the fire appeared to be coming from a first floor window in a room not used by the public.

Investigators believe the cause to have been a short circuit on the CCTV control panel. A forensic team has been instructed to carry out an investigation.

There are no reported injuries although there has been an estimated one-million baht’s worth of damage.

PATTAYA: -- A predawn fire broke out today at a well-known discotheque in Pattaya's walking street, forcing hundreds of Thai and foreign tourists to run out in panic.

Fortunately nobody was hurt in the brief fire which happened at Natcha Club at 3.30 am today.

According to Pattaya police, the fire was alerted to the police around 3.30 am, and they immediately called in fire police to rush to the fire scene at Natcha Club, along with rescue workers of the Sawang Boriboon charity foundation.

As three fire trucks arrived, tourists were still running out of the place in panic.

Authorities and rescue workers then sealed off the area and prevented unauthorized persons to enter while facilitating the firemen to work.

The fire was put out by the staff of the discotheque before spreading.

Initial questioning of eyewitnesses revealed that the fire started at the office  room of the club on the second floor.

I am really concerned about many of the "illegal" properties on walking street, only one way out, built with no building control, fire reg's was just another thing they ignored.

Nashaa - a punjabi or hindi word meaning stoned or drunk.
