Probably a bit dull and boring but it seems to me  that it takes much longer to charge my Tablet and phone in Thailand (220 volts) than it does back in Oz (240) volts. As I have absolutely no idea of how electricity works I was wondering if there is an explanation for this or maybe I am just imagining it.

If you put 220 v through a tablet, you'd fry it.

The adaptor lowers the current to a much lower levell....usually

everything in thailand happens slowly so no bucking the trend there

As above, adaptor will lower voltage to suit your application.

This might be of some interest. Oz no longer 240v.

In 2000, Australia converted to 230 V as the nominal standard with a tolerance of +10%/−6%., this superseding the old 240 V standard, AS2926-1987.

Sorry, but I think maybe imagining it.

  1.
  2. Mains power is sometimes spoken of as 110 V; however, 120 V is the nominal voltage. In 2000, Australia converted to 230 V as the nominal standard with a tolerance of +10%/−6%., this superseding the old 240 V standard, AS2926-1987.
