Anybody ever got marriage visa at savannakhet?

Recommended Posts

Where did you post this topic yesterday. I don't think it was on this forum.

You can get a multiple entry non-o visa in Savannakhet with no financial proof. The visa allows unlimited 90 day entries for a year from the date of issue.

You apply by 11 am the morning of one day and pick up the next after noon.

Marriage certificate plus a copy, signed copies of you wife's house book registry and ID card.

Fee is 5000 baht.

This is correct and should be well known to regular readers of this forum topic.

As usual ubonjoe has it correct.

However please note as he also says this multi entey visa requires the visa user to leave Thailand every 90 days.

Now you can also chose to extend such a visa annually at your local immigration office based upon marriage to a Thai.

That is where the requirement for either the 400K funds in a Thai bank OR a monthly 40K income comes into it.

In other words if you wish to extend this visa based on marriage to a Thai annually you will need those funds to do that.

The original multi entry visa is good for one year before it expires.

You can choose to extend it annually by showing the required funds or you can also go to Savannaket and try for another year visa with no funds needed to be shown.

You mean Extension based on marriage not extending a visa.

Stevymac

I did it in September, very easy just remember to take the Original copy of your marriage certificate which will be handed back to on the first day of processing.

Over the road from the embassy is a little shop helping out with photocopying if you require.

Take a hat as it can get a little hot standing in the sun whilst waiting in queue.

Hope that helps.

A one year multi-o visa you must leave the county on or before 90 days, your entry card and passport will have a stamp telling you when the 90 days is up. You can get near 15 months.

If you want to extend your stay after that you do it at your local immigration where you show money in the bank or income, the money in the bank must be in YOUR Thai bank for two months prior to you application. This is not a visa...If you do not have the cash just go back to Sav for another visa.

You can extend your 15 months by 60 days at immigration with no cash..

just a quick question , dose the marriage certificate  have to be Thai.

The will accept any marriage certificate as long as it is in English or Thai.  If not in English it must be translated to Thai and the translation be certified by the department on consular affairs.
