RAYONG:-- A video of a drug dealer desperately trying to escape armed officers has been shared across social media.

Despite heavy traffic the dealer with his girlfriend by his side tried to escape through a narrow gap as drug suppression police shoot out the Honda Civic's tires.

But the car breaks through. In the confusion and despite several armed men on the case the suspect managed to flee leaving his girlfriend to carry the can.

The drama happened near the market in Maptaphut, Rayong on Thursday.

Prior to the scenes in the video a sting had been set up to buy drugs.

But Worachai (Jack) Kluaymai Na Ayuthaya, 33, drove off despite being hemmed in my police.

Dash cam footage then showed officers shooting as he tried to force the car though a narrow gap damaging many other vehicles.

He escaped and police arrested Kanda (Am) Tammasri, 28, who he left in the car.

Robert de Niro as gangster " Neil McCauley " in "Heat" (1995):

"On the street you wanna be makin' roves, you don't put anything in your life you can't walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you spot heat around the corner."

Thai police are so poorly trained. Civilians and other BIB in the crossfire.

Using guns to shoot out tires.

Get another police car in position to intercept or block them later?

Wait to find a better location to stop them?

Standing 3 meters from the drivers window with guns draw and they still get away?

Anyway I am off to the police station to post bail for the girlfriend.

The bloody stupid police could have killed innocent people.

They are so <deleted> stupid, and he got away anyway.

Why did that idiot firing his gun not just shoot the driver?????

Brazilian police and phillipino police would have handled this a lot better... A bullet to the head

Should of just shot him, an obvious danger to the public.

Wow! As much as I despise anyone involved in the drug trade, this tactic that the police here have in shooting out the suspects tyres is actually a lot more dangerous than what he was doing, regardless of the damage he caused to the surrounding cars.

IMO of course.

Mr Neil, If constable Plod had shot the driver then he would have been up for manslaughter (at least), there was no "probable cause", no one's life was threatened.......the crim' hadn't even been charged!  :wai:

Hello this is Thailand not the US.

Police here do not need probable cause.

So according to you him firing his gun wildly is ok.

He could have shot the driver and only maimed him, not killed him.

the car was stuck there for a loooooooooooonnng time. enough for the cops to hold a gun to the driver's face and tell him to turn off the engine. reflective of poor training.

Yes the Thai police should emulate their US counterparts. I mean I've seen videos of police shooting and killing people who are unarmed and have their hands up! It's obvious they should have riddled the driver's head with bullets.

I am sure they could have put a shot through the door and got him in the thigh,  hurt him enough so he could not use the accelerator.

Well if they shot off his wedding tackle that would be a bonus (Darwinism).

Not a bad idea The cops in the west can do this as well since he is fleeing custody and a clear and present danger to the public
