Not toast. Colluded? Says who. More BS. Next!

Sessions met the Russian Ambassador as a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, he had meetings with more than 25 foreign ambassadors in the course of the year.

Sessions was a Senior Advisor to the Trump campaign!

Quote

When Sessions spoke with Kislyak in July and September, the senator was a senior member of the influential Armed Services Committee as well as one of Trump’s top foreign policy advisers. Sessions played a prominent role supporting Trump on the stump after formally joining the campaign in February 2016.

At his Jan. 10 Judiciary Committee confirmation hearing, Sessions was asked by Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) what he would do if he learned of any evidence that anyone affiliated with the Trump campaign communicated with the Russian government in the course of the 2016 campaign.

“I’m not aware of any of those activities,” he responded. He added: “I have been called a surrogate at a time or two in that campaign and I did not have communications with the Russians.”

Trump address Twitter numbers appear to be boosted by 'bots'

Conservative groups flooded #JointAddress and #JointSession with polls, tweets. (sub-title)

"President Donald Trump’s first congressional address — widely celebrated as the most-tweeted presidential address to Congress ever — appears to have been boosted by pro-Trump “bot” accounts."

"Even before they started trending yesterday, the official hashtags — #JointAddress and #JointSession — accumulated decidedly inorganic traffic, including from some accounts that had never tweeted about any other topic."

"Telltale signs of automated traffic include lack of a profile picture and prolific output."

Trump’s team nixed ethics course for White House staff

"President Donald Trump’s team rejected a course for senior White House staff, Cabinet nominees and other political appointees that would have provided training on leadership, ethics and management, according to documents obtained by POLITICO."

"The documents suggest the program could have better prepared officials for working within existing laws and executive orders, and provided guidance on how to navigate Senate confirmation for nominees and political appointees, how to deal with congressional and media scrutiny, and how to work with Congress and collaborate with agencies — some of the same issues that have become major stumbling blocks in the early days of the administration."

"But the contract was never awarded because after the election the transition team shifted its priorities, according to a letter the General Services Administration sent to bidders such as the Partnership for Public Service."

Damn.

That explains a lot.

Who knows what was discussed, but he did talk with Russian officials during the course of the campaign.  Which he denied at his hearings.  Trying to say it was part of his job as senator could be true, but that should have been divulged during the confirmation hearings.  He flat out denied talking with any Russians during the campaign.  Which is a lie.  No way to spin that any other way.  And thus, he's recused himself.

Watch his testimony here.  Hard to argue this any other way.

And the clown train keeps on going. Pence was using personal email for state government business and discussed confidential issues from it as well. Pence condemned Hillary for the doing the same thing. What a joke.

I wonder what all those people that said "put her in jail!" are going to do now.  What's fair is fair.  Pretty bad stuff.

From your link:

Vice President Mike Pence routinely used a private email account to conduct public business as governor of Indiana, at times discussing sensitive matters and homeland security issues.

Emails released to IndyStar in response to a public records request show Pence communicated via his personal AOL account with top advisers on topics ranging from security gates at the governor’s residence to the state’s response to terror attacks across the globe. In one email, Pence’s top state homeland security adviser relayed an update from the FBI regarding the arrests of several men on federal terror-related charges.

Put him in jail! LOL

In a reversal, former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page now says he did have contact with Russia

"The Trump campaign has repeatedly denied communication with Russian officials during the 2016 elections and its transition to the White House. In fact, USA Today has counted at least 20 denials since last summer"

trump took a short break from crazy twitter trump after his "triumphant":sick:speech to congress. Some wondered if this was finally the fabled "pivot" that actually never happens.

He's BACK! Crazier than ever.

Anyway, here's a touch of OPTIMISM suggesting that trumpism is temporary and reversible. One can hope.

Quote

Things look bleak for liberals now. But they’ll beat Trump in the end.

He and his movement will fade, and the values and priorities of the left will eventually triumph.

He and his movement will fade, and the values and priorities of the left will eventually triumph

In the end, the Trumpian populism of the 2010s will probably have no more staying power than the agrarian populism of the 1880s and 1890s, which was also driven by demographic groups on the decline and was similarly undercut by structural change and the transition to a new economic era. That earlier populist era was followed by an era of strong social advancement in the early 20th century — the Progressive Era.

What will have staying power in the 21st century is the values and priorities of the left. They will not win every battle, but they will win the war.

How come there isn't a topic for Sessions' perjury?

Surely this is the most pressing issue at the moment, or is lying under oath considered par for the course these days?

Lying ???

No, it's alternative truth,....  ehm , modern rightwing style.

Ohh, he is so presidential.....Not!

Then there is the irony ...

The president accused Obama of ‘McCarthyism.’ But Trump’s mentor helped enforce it.

McCarthyism is something of which Trump should have in-depth knowledge.

His lifelong attorney and mentor — Roy Cohn, one of the men who helped mold Trump into Trump — was, as one author called it, Joseph McCarthy's sidekick.

why doesn't he ask the FBI?    weird

For the same reason he doesn't deal with the various intelligence agencies.  He knows they've got the dirt on him.  So he's discrediting them hoping it deflects from the problems he's facing.

Luckily, the press won't give up.  One reason a free and fair press is so important.
