METV - satisfying the employment part

Featured Replies

Hi

We are travelling to Thailand via other places in 2017 from the Uk.

We meet the requirements for an METV in all aspects except the employment part.  I was employed as a Director in a Ltd company until October 2017 and have my last assessment. Will this be sufficient to satisfy the Thai Embassy. I am no longer working.

Thanks Lisa

I assume you mean October 2016. London seems to show some flexibility if you can convince them that you are retired and affluent. Good luck!

Just got an METV from Hull, they were happy to accept  last self assessment tax form as proof of self employment. ( i got a copy sent from HMRC, if you do on line assessment you can print a copy on line )

I heard that all the consulates are no longer giving out METVs and it has to be the London embassy? I really hope this is not the case as I got my last one from Liverpool and it was a breeze - I would not mind going to Hull for a METV, go and see my old Uni town.

How long ago did you get it?

As far as I know it is only multiple entry non immigrant visa that they can no longer issue. No mentions of METV"s.

I got mine

I got mine two weeks ago. As far as I am aware, consulates are allowed to give METV, but not ' O ' visas.
