Trump didn't endorse the UN. The ambassador has no teeth and can make no deals for the US.

 

It takes a 2/3 vote of the Senate to ratify a treaty and the US rarely ratifies a UN treaty. The ambassador's agreement to or signing of it means nothing.

 

Haley, an early Trump critic, has been sidelined where she can do no harm. She will step down as governor of S. Carolina and be replaced by the state’s lieutenant governor, Henry McMaster who was an early and vocal supporter of Trump.

 

Great strategic move. Trump is a strategist.
