To all my UK Friends out their maybe you can help me with this.

I have a Thai Female Friend who moved to the UK and who met a Guy there, which later got married to him in the UK and about 8 years ago. They have 2 small children together now.

All seemed fine until lately where he all of a sudden he told her about 6 months ago that he wants a Divorce. I think there is another woman involved here. He basically wants to kick her out of the Flat they own, where she paid 70% of the Down Payment for and that if she moves back to Thailand he may pay some Child Support. If she does not he won't give he anything.

She has been in the UK (London) for about 15 years and is holding UK Citizenship. She has established herself in the UK with a decent job and home for the kids so she doesn't want to move back to Thailand. They only speak English. She has been stuck paying all the Bills by herself and can't afford a Lawyer and her Husband is forcing her to move out basically onto the street with the kids.

Is there anyway she can get some free legal advice or help in the UK, or a Free Lawyer, who she can contact for help their. Especially in getting her husband to help out with the Child Support for his kids? He holds a good job in London and it is only he who wants this Divorce now.

Citizens Advice would be a good place to ask, they will almost certainly be able to refer her somewhere. You might also try this:

https://www.lawworks.org.uk/

They offer pro-bono legal aid for qualified citizens and she sounds like she qualifies.

Another possibility is here:

And actually, almost every lawyer in the UK offers an initial consultation for free. Since here situation is backed up by UK law she could likely get initial help and guidance from any UK solicitor, if nothing else they will be able to guide her appropriately.

The husband sounds like his trying to con and scare her, his a scumbag and l hope on his way to a nasty shock, so as previous post of  "chiang mai "  points out she can do many things and she should act quickly, as she can easily stop any-kind of eviction as he is wrong in trying.

You can assist her easily with phone calls made to agencies and solicitors yourself to give her some support but be careful not to give him any chance of involving you in any accusations, don't see her unaccompanied.

No problem whatsoever of her remaining in England if she has been given UK Citizenship .
