Anyone know a Thai girl looking for a job with the above knowledge? Need someone from the south or Bkk as that's the only Thai I can communicate in and understand. salary is 7000 per month to start, start date on the 13th this month.

Please leave a personal message if you have a friend looking for work. Of course she must be of a friendly disposition, speak the necessary English for the job, and be presentable. Hours are from 6 to 2 and tips are shared with 1 other. Accommodation is not included in the package at the moment, but could be later.

Purely business isn't it? A good looking girl behind the counter brings in more trade.

you don't think a good looking male would? or say a not so good looking male with lots of charm? don't be ridiculous.

They would bring in a trade as well, but I would say that the girl would bring in more. Of course what island the job is being offered on and what 's the demographic of the customers are factors.

If men are your main customers then it'd be much better to have female staff, more drinks get bought. If women are the main customers then sure get some guys in.

I just see the guys on Koh Samui, so I would guess the majority of his customers will be men.

To be honest, girls just don't drink enough Beer, and are less social in male company whom they've never met, because they believe every man is trying to hit on them. I do have a couple of femail customers who can knock a few beers back, but I had to bar one of them and the other only comes in when there's a new guy in town....Apart from that I don't wish to employ a Thai male, as I've had nothing but grief in the past (20 years here in July, so I've had a little bit of experience....)

steverino: I don't think that you have to justify your request/job offer at all!

It is entirely up to you! next would be: "why not an disabled peson? Because of human rights and equality...stuff it! :o:D:D

I am in the same position and prefer female coworkers, not because of their "physical properties", but anyone look around, who is employed in what field!

I was gonna say girls don't drink as much but didn't want to get girlx stressed out. :o

End of the day its nothing about equality, you need staff to make people buy beers, girls are better at this job.

You must get hassle with having staff that look a little too good though no? I had a friend who was running a place on Khao San, every time she got a really good looking girl in as staff they would bring in loads of customers for a few weeks until one of the customers became a boyfriend and then they'd be off down the road. I bet that's a bigger hassle on Samui isn't it?

fair enough i guess... out of curiousity what kinds of problems? i ask because i occasionally help my friend (a thai male) in his bar here when he is short employees. when he has thai guys working with me they are always really good workers, but they only stay one or two nights for some reason i can't fathom except my friend seems reluctant to hire thai men as well...

why do they have to drink beer? that's weird... wouldn't you rather they didn't drink at all so they could focus on making money? i know from experience i am a little friendlier but a lot less dependable if i drink when i serve. hmmm... and girls think all the men are hitting on them because most of them ARE! at the end of the night when they are drunk, even after several polite 'no's. t's annoying after awhile so you do get a little hardened towards them.

what you probably need is a thai couple!

I read that to mean that girls (customers) don't drink beer or enough generally to run a successful bar, so steverinos main customer base was men, therefore a female barstaff would be a better marketing tool :o

Answering your own question here by complaining about male staff's treatment of customers aren't you? :o

From experience, I just wanted someone reliable ... someone who would show up for their shift, didn't steal and could sling the drinks to the punters when it got busy ... girl, guy, quasimodo ... I just wanted someone reliable ... :o

yeah maybe that is what he meant. still, girls drink cocktails which are more expensive, and wherever there are girls drinking there will be boys. in fact a "ladies night" is great for business.
