Not sure if this is the right place to post this, as I just joined TVF today. I've ordered a new set of binoculars that are being shipped from Japan. The Japanese company charges are in $ US dollars (491) for this item, but it is converted to GB pounds (410), as paying by my UK Visa card. Can anyone give me a rough idea, how much Thai Tax will be charged for these binoculars ?. The shipping weight is 1.82 Kgs

Thanks in advance.

How are they coming ?

If private carrier,  such as DHL, FEDEX or UPS, at a minimum 7% VAT right off the top, but would have to see the Thai tax chart to see exactly how much "binoculars" would be taxed for duty.   Which is almost guaranteed to happen if shipped by any of these carriers

If via Japanese mail, might get though with little or nothing , depending upon what the shipper declared on the customs form
