BKK Concert in the (Lumpini) Park, Any info?

Last year, the BKK Symphony's Concert in the Park (Lumpini) ran from mid December to mid January.  It's a great way to enjoy some free music outdoors with lots of other people.

I can't find any indication whether it's been postponed, cancelled or otherwise this year.

Anyone have any info?

Last bump of the season, for the last Free Concert before the weather gets too hot.

I've enjoyed each one I've attended, surrounded by lots of families (local and foreign), many doing the picnic thing.  I'm pretty sure I saw some wine glasses klinking in the normally alcohol free park...  Nobody seemed to be bothered.

Great topic.

I've been to four of these so far and all were great. Highlights have been the compositions by His sadly passed away Majesty which were exquisitely composed and played and also often the opening pieces such as the William Tell which they played impeccably and will be doing again this Sunday I am happy to see.

The weekend of Children's day was also very good with many Disney/Fairytale pieces played with real joy and verve.

They often also have guest singers and a couple of weeks ago the Russian State Opera singers they had were stunningly good. Voices of angels is no exaggeration.

Great way to spend a free evening in the park, listening to great music.

Thanks-- this is the first time I've seen anything with a listing of what they're playing (in English, at least; trying to decipher the names in Thai would be a nightmare, assuming they'd be just translating the English names to Thai script).

Bump for anyone looking for something fun to do this coming Sunday evening.  One of the nicer things Bangkok has on offer, but only for a couple of months a year when the weather is usually cool enough.  Great family outing, too.

I'm going to bump this, even though they have moved the free concerts this year from Lumpini to a few hundred meters away in Chulalongkorn University Centenary Park.  These Sunday evening concerts were one of the highlights of living in BKK.  I hope they're just as enjoyable and easy to access by MRT as they were in Lumpini.
