Residents of Buriram Province can no longer go to Kap Choeng

Featured Replies

Not noticed this on Thai Visa but not to say it is not there somewhere.

As from 1st September the immigration Office at Kap Choeng will no longer service those  living in the Province of Buriram.

I found this out to my cost when I went this morning to renew my retirement extension.

So it was off to Buriram and thankfully my wife has some local guy who works for the local government who directed us. Otherwise would never have found it. No signs or markings anywhere.

It was a very large new building which seems to house many government  departments. Again when you get there no signs to say where to go.

From the large car park facing the front of the building, enter up the stairs on the right side of the building. Walk along until you see the lift the lift and go up to 3rd Floor. Go to your right and office is there on the left.

Still no markings/signs but say they have been open over 2 months.

One good point to note and that is the competence and the good way you are spoken to, also very helpful. Never asked for or assumed a tip, though I gave one for the good service.

Lesson learned, check that your local immigration office has not changed or moved could save you 6 hours travelling time.

Burioram Immigration Office Tel. No. is 0044666903.
