Hi, visa run turnaround on NON O due next week, flying from Phuket to KL and back same day. I am hearing and reading conflicting reports on whether I have to exit and enter immigration at KL, or transit?

 

Any help would be appreciated.

You should enter Malaysia to get an entry stamp that serves as proof of entering another country.

I do this for nearly all my 90 day stamps on a multi entry, as far as I know you need enter Malaysia and get the stamp. If you go through transit you won't have an entry stamp to show Thai immigration and  theres much more to do whilst waiting for your your return flight anyway in Gateway. If you are flying airasia the return flight can often be a bit late also.
