Hi guys,

I have tried doing a search but I couldn't find anything up to date.

I need to go to do a criminal background check in Thailand. I'm a British expat and returning to a new job in the UK. MY new job requires a police check because I have been in Thailand for over six months. I am aware that I have to do this in Bangkok after doing some research on Google. Does anyone know how long it takes before they will send you the certificate, or will it be processed on the day? I'm planning on heading to Bangkok next week.

Thanks a lot in advance! This group is always very helpful.

B/regards,

Paddy Kapow

Everything takes forever and a day here

I needed a police clearance from Australia for a volunteer job in Thailand

I went to my local police station paid the required fee and walked out with my police criminal clearance 10 minutes later, they just put your details into their computer and it does a Australia wide check for any criminal record in your name on the spot

There're loads of parts I can't fill out on those forms as I'm just on a Non-O visa based on marriage. I don't work here and don't have a Thai ID card. I think my best bet is just to go down there. After finding out somewhere how difficult it is to get finger prints in Chiang Mai, I read somewhere else that they can do them at the service in Bangkok. I really hope this goes smoothly. I'll just turn up with my marriage certificate etc. :(
