Multi non O from London for having a Thai child

Featured Replies

I'm currently in the UK and planning returning to Thailand in either February or March and I'm wondering if I can get a multi non O from London based on having a Thai child,  he is 8 years old and a dual national with a Thai passport and I.d card.

You would apply for a non-o visa based upon being the parent of a Thai. There have been reports of them issuing a multiple entry visa.

You will need their birth certificate showing you as their father and a copy. Copies of their house book registry. Having signed copies of their mothers house book and ID card would help.

It seems a bit hit and miss as to whether or not London will issue a ME Non 'O' visa as the parent of a Thai, but its worth asking. If they deny a ME visa they will issue a SE Non 'O' visa that will give you 90 days. Once in Thailand you have options depending on how long you're planning to stay. It is easy to get a ME Non 'O' visa from Savannakhet, Laos.

I was having sunday lunch with a buddy who just went to Phnom Penh for the exact same.. He was denied earlier in the year in London for the multiple, I didnt ask exactly when he was denied but got the impression it was late summer.

Hes also full legal guardian, no problem with money in bank, etc.. I got the impression he was given the single.

I thought Savannakhet stopped issuing ME non O visas for de facto marriages. Only legal marriages or possibly if you are legal father.

Penang wouldn't be a problem.

+1 for Penang.....got ME based on being father of child earlier in year with 400k in bank and birth certificate.

Previously had got ME 'O' from London last year based on being father of child but had to show them court order and birth certificate.

Savannakhet will only do one if married to a Thai. The will no longer do one for being the parent of a Thai.
