True Fibre 100/30...slow torrenting

We had True Fibre 30/10 for a year a so and recently upgraded to 100/300. True came yesterday and brought a new modem as well as a True TV box which works off the router. Apparently, you have to take the True TV package to get the 30/100 upgrade. Anyway, I have disconnected the TV box because the programmes are rubbish and I have an Android box. However, since the upgrade, my torrenting speed has decreased from 1-3Mbps to about 200kbps. Anyone know why? Is it because some of the bandwidth is reserved for the the TV service? As usual, I regretted getting in True...my 30/10 service was fine and now the 100/300 speed is 90% slower and I don't even use the TV box.

At long last   Fibre has arrived to the Village, 1st was 3BB in Oct, then AIS last month and True this last week, as was on the waiting list was installed last Sat 100/30.  [when having the house built in 2003 only option was True, in 13 years never had any real problems, if ever any was sorted out within 24 hours, often within the hour]  did not see any reason to move so kept with True...  they also did a good deal 699 baht a month for the top package for 12 months...  Yes in the deal was a home phone [never use for years] and the True IPTV box [also will never use]

So far the web loads faster + no problems with Kodi on my Android box or Kodi on the PC much more stable..

No idea about the workings of these things, but got Kodi running on the Android box and the PC while the True engineers were here, did they adjust something in the Fibre router ? they fiddled about with there laptop while doing something in the Router settings [feel sure they upped the settings]

Feel sure that someone will be along soon that knows about Routers and settings to advise

OP, torrent speed is dependent on the number of seeds and the speed they are uploading at. If only one person is seeding a torrent on their dialup connection, that is how fast it will download. Isnt the true TV box just another android box ? Or is there a difference? I cant see that it would have a dedicated bandwidth.

I have TRUE Fibre (I think) 35/5 installed just recently. It also includes True TV box which works off the router (HUAWEI Optical Network Terminal). I get it at the same price as my previous ADSL - 590 THB a month. Installation and equipment are free. They connected the black fiber-optic cable directly to the router and another white cable from the router to the TV.
So far, no problems with browsing/downloading including torrents, three times faster than ADSL. WIFI is also working good. I think the TV channels are just in Thai.

I got that offer from the TRUE customer service on the phone. So everything went very easy. They told me that they'll stop ADSL service on the same day they install the cable. So, no changes in payments.

1.  Normal TV offer is the free Thai service but you can normally also obtain premium services at a higher cost - it will be billed independent of internet and/or phone.

2.  Channels are a separate stream on the fiber - not part of internet package so will not slow that down.

3.  As said torrents can vary greatly in speed but there is also a fair use limit if you read the fine print - and if you exceed that limit they will put the brakes on (and I mean it will be very slow).  On my 30/3 fiber I limit download speed to 900 KB/s and have no problem obtaining that speed if there are enough seeders and avoid such issues.
