whats the big deal about shabu shi?

Featured Replies

I went to central for a lunch at the shab bushi restaraunt. it was so busy i had to take a number and wait. I really cant see what the big deal is fo lr 420 baht. i think its a bit of a gimmik.

Fascinating.

Please go on.

Yes, it's usually very busy there.

I've looked at the food through the window and don't see the appeal.

Never been.

The "gimmick" is all you can eat and big variety and the Asian culture shared pot thingie.

Quality? Who cares.

I have been there..

In my opinion the food sucks..

The whole boiling fresh food in water thing just does not work for me...

I am not picky I like street food..

I love Sizzler..

But Shabu shi forget it....

My girlfriend has dragged me there twice...

1sr time I was sure I hated the food..

2nd time I wanted to be 100% sure I hate the place..

3rd time- There will be no 3rd time EVER....

Has no appeal for me but Thais adore it.

There is a time limit of 1 hour 15 minutes which Thais see as a challenge to shovel down as much food as possible. When I go out for a meal I like someone to do the cooking for me.
