CHONBURI: -- A tug boat sank into the bottom of the sea in front of Dok Mai island of Chon Buri on Wednesday after its engine room caught fire and started burning.

Pol Cpt Puvichapon Sooksai, duty officer attached to Koh Sichang police, said he received a report that a tug boat, named Nampol Vanich 1, was burning heavily in the sea off Dok Mai island and immediately alerted the maritime traffic control centre of the Marine Department and the marine police.

Rescue and fire-fighting boats were dispatched to the scene to douse the fire. The firemen spent about two hours to fight the fire, but it could not save the tug boat which finally sank into the bottom of the sea.

Police said that three crew members of the ill-fated tug boat who jumped over board into the sea when the vessel caught fire were later picked up by a rescue vessel.

It is a Gulf not a Sea

They are not referring to the " Gulf of Thailand " !

They are referring to the water using the correct term.

If some falls off a ship in the ocean; they say " He or she was lost at sea " not just at ocean, or lost at gulf.

Nice try Newbie ! Only for more troll posts to go.

A Gulf = " A large area of a sea or ocean partially enclosed by land"

So if it is not a sea it must be an ocean? :stoner:
