CHONBURI: -- All hell broke loose at a temple in Chonburi yesterday as two senior monks started fighting over a minor issue of a dog barking.

But when one monk looked like he was taking a serious beating his son got involved and laid into the other monk, reports Daily News.

The orange clad victim ended up at Chonburi police station asking for charges of assault to be brought.

The "temple war" reported by Daily News started when two senior monks got into a disagreement about a dog. It involved Phra Aree and Phra Theeraporn, 43. One said the other had made the dogs bark disturbing him then had come back to fire rubber bands at the dog.

A fight broke out and when Phra Aree was getting a pummeling his son Sayan Noiraksa, 39, joined the fray giving Phra Theeraporn a split lip and other injuries.

Phra Theeraporn later went to Chonburi police to demand they prosecute the son for assault.

Police are investigating the truth of the temple bust up.

Police are investigating the temple bust up, and they will find the answer will be money.

Monks behaving badly !! nothing new about that, an everyday occurrence.

The great pity is that the Thai faithful do not realise the depravity of their blessed monks, and keep feathering their nests!

I think they know alright. Problem is, they are so inculcated into the worshipping of monks, through a lifetime of propaganda and brainwashing (indoctrination) that they can't find ways to express their disapproval. The other problem is that like everything else in this country, there is an abysmal failure to properly enforce rules and regs.

 Yes, every week we hear about something "bad" about them Monks, drug dealing, extremely rich, flying private jets.

Where has the moral gone??

Out the window and not just for the saffron decked out crowd. In this case they should shame them and make them wear black robes for a week or two. Funny the guy that started the fight wants to lay charges. I just hope there was no jungle juice involved.
