Yesterday, I received the following message from AIS:

***

Urgent!  Your passport (ID) photo is not clear or incomplete per NBTC's regulation, please bring your SIM + passport and contact AIS shop/Telewiz/AIS Buddy to register again within 23/12/2016 and get the bonus free call.

***

That is the message I received, verbatum.  Ok, fine.  So today I went into the AIS shop in Central World, showed them thie message and my passport.

The clerk asked for my phone number, which he hand wrote on a sheet/form in front of him and entered something into his work computer.  Then he took my passport and wrote more onto that sheet and entered more into the computer.  Once completed, he handed the passport back to me, entered a bunch of stuff into a tablet he has beside the computer and after a minute of so told me done.

Ok, so my issue is this:  a:  I have 2 SIMs 'registered', why did I not get a similar message on the second phone?

And b:  the original message stated that the PHOTO was not clear or incomplete, yet the clerk never copied or scanned my passort, so he still does not have a new photo.

Finally, I originally registered almost 2 years ago.  Since then I have renewed my passport, so if anyone checks the original 'registration' whith this new one, they will notice it is not the same passport number.

My question here is, has anyone else received such a notification/request from AIS?

I did my bit as asked, but can't help but get a nagging feeling that this is anything but resolved.

Many registrations were done using the mobile phone "Two-shot" app, which utilized a photo of the SIM bar-code details and the registrant's ID document; suspect not every cam snap was acceptable?, they're cleaning those up, post haste.

I think the "authorities" will also be requiring at least a thumb-print (maybe all 10?) as part of the registration credentials for a SIM.
