BANGKOK: -- A DEPARTMENT of Special Investigation (DSI) source said the agency was looking into a report that the temple’s spokesman Ong-art Thamnita has fled the country.

He failed to respond to an arrest warrant issued over allegations of defamation and inciting unrest.

The DSI is also considering the possibility of applying for a new warrant to arrest the temple’s former abbot Phra Dhammachayo after New Year celebrations.

The source said the DSI is also investigating allegations that the temple’s executives had spent more than Bt100 million of donations from the Klongchan Credit Union Cooperative (KCUC) on stock trade.

...intelligence reports...

Also known as "rumours".....:coffee1:

I wait with baited breath for chapter 15 of this ongoing drama!

Why not issue a warrant right now to arrest the temple’s former abbot Phra Dhammachayo, why after new year?  Someone should do a film about this farce.

a film................................seen it already

no Oscars

Intelligence and the DSI  :cheesy:

Something that is sadly lacking.

What did they expect?  Publically announce they have a warrant and they will be popping around to his house at 1.30 on Friday after lunch to arrest him.  DSI knock on door, no answer.   They all look dumbfounded and ask how did he get on to us?  They now say they have intelligence that he may have fled.  These guys are bloody good and no wonder they are the cream of Thai law enforcement.

Because they like to give suspects advanced warnings of what they are up to.

There's an emerging phenomenon of ' religious " institutions operating solely

for profit and self enrichments where wealth comes first and worship comes

second, as with the case of rouge temples and abbots and the tiger temple,

in essence, they're nothing but business for profit while out of pure greed

trying very hard to circumvent the law of the land and take flight when their

dirty deeds has

been exposed and their safety is in peril....

Some might include the Vatican amongst these self enrichment "religious instituttions" with it's US$8 billion in assets. It also has US20million in gold reserves and US750 million in equity assets. And that's only what the balance sheet shows.

Vatican City is the richest state in the world. Why the need for this wealth? Jesus only needed a cloth robe and a pair of sandals to preach the word of God.

Well,  is there anything else?

Psst... he is in the john dropping his load after breakfast...

The DSI is also considering the possibility of applying for a new warrant

DSI: We asked Chula University to conduct a study on the effects of officials "considering a possibility to apply", and they found that it would raise the probability to actually submit an application by an inverse negative amount, in effect totally wiping out any effort now and for at least six months in the future. But since we didn't understand the middle part of the report, we will still go ahead with a consideration of a possibility to do or not do something.

U can say that again,  Military next week I heard..........................:cheesy:

DSI must be getting advice from Tarit,......................................:cheesy:

Left the country, maybe given free passage, as it seems those

in authority dont want to have to deal with this case, just like

they gave Thaksin ,free passage to Olympics, they knew he was

not coming back, another  can of worms they dont want to open.

regards worgeordie

Fleeing is exactly what the DSI is trying to achieve with all the forward warning. They will be rubbing their hands with glee now with one less embarrassment to manage. Now for the next plan to facilitate an easy escape path for the ex-abbot. Kind of win-win for all parties.

Did he Go to Visit Santa ,or Become an Eskimo,oh where did the Swag Man Go

No one would sit through a film of that length.

There's a not so emerging phenomenon of people that compare apples to oranges too because once was enough to see nothing but scarey mass worship there.

No.  Wait.  What?  Really, he has fled the country?  Didn't see that coming.   :shock1:

By the way, anyone seen the (ex) abbot lately?  No chance he has also done a runner, is there?

Intelligence is a word that sould never be used in reference to the police or DSI, unless of course, you are talking about the LACK of.

Again you just cannot make this up. I keep telling myself to give the BIB and the military a chance that they will eventually do the right thing and get a grip on things. Make a New Years resolution to quit giving them such a hard time. Wrong. Just send the good Phra a Happy News Card saying "Hope To See You Soon" signed The Bib, military and of course Mr. (above the fray) Prayuth.

I guess the computer crimes act could be extended to cover a film. You would be slandering BIB incompetence to the point where they would recognize that immediately after sitting through the epic. Hmm the BIB could use it as a training no doubt. Isn't their motto "We always get our man"

Maybe his lawyer will have a Doctor note he in Singapore to ill to come back now TIT

Congratulations the policy: ...bad guys out, seems to work perfectly.
