BANGKOK: -- A large raiding party of DSI officers, soldiers, police and justice department officials raided several properties belonging to Wichai Panngam yesterday.

Wichai is said to be Thailand's biggest loan shark, reports Sanook.

Five houses belonging to Wichai were searched in the Rattanakosin 200 years Housing Estate in Thanyaburi, Pathum Thani.

A five story apartment building was also raided in Soi Rangsit - Pathum Thani 10 where computers with customer details were taken into evidence.

The houses of four relatives were also searched.

But Wichai was nowhere to be found - only employees were found at each address.

The raid was part of a crackdown on illegal loan sharking.

What Porsche?

Can't auction what wasn't seized...

Just joking. No sense for emoticons?

But if he is found guilty assets might be seized.

It's a Porsche Panamera, latest 2016 model.

Did they get a loan at preferential rate then?

Or just a few donations?

Monk making fools of them, so now time to make amends.

I wonder how much this is going to cost him?????

Why am I not surprised. The BIB will get a Christmas card from the West. "Having a good time glad your not here"

I would think Nim See Saeng is the biggest loan shark. We're talking billions here. They have investments in houses, transport, construction, storages, factories etc. Charge ridiculous rates but are probably SO connected there will be no raid there. This was a small fish compared to Nim See Saeng.

It's probably on invitation only and don't forget to bring your police ID.

think not

'Strange' his minions were seen running away just an hour before the raid. I'd be looking for someone who has just become 'unusually' wealthy' amongst the raiders if I were a cynic.

Obviously he wasn't paying his dues to both army & police as my ex did.

She is well protected as she gave them preferential rates that is 70% less than the going rate.

Can see why loan sharks do well here Most Thais hate getting a job
