me standing by Spitzkoffe mountain.  It's gritty sandstone.  On 4th day climbing I got in a tough situation and almost fell.  Luckily, I wound up only scrapping skin off parts of my body.  Lesson learned:  don't push the limits too far.  Also, during cooler parts of day (mornings/evenings) hyrax can be seen scampering around the rocks.

OP complained about lack of "wild mammals" in Thailand compared to Namibia.  Walking Street is full of them every night, plenty in daylight as well.

Doesn't Namibia have salt water crocs that can prowl beach areas? Imagine having a sit down at the beach and being chewed up.

Do not for one minute compare Thailand with Zimbabwe.

When their war was on the joke was:- Nowadays it is "Come to Rhodesia and see the ruins of Zimbabwe". After the war it will be "Come to Zimbabwe and see the ruins of Rhodesia". Unfortunately it turned out to be a prophecy not a joke.
