December 7, 200619 yr Hi My Tourist Visa from Penang (3 months) expires next week and I was wondering if it's possible to change it to a Non-Immigrant Visa so i can apply for a 1 year extension. I just transferred 800k to my bank account yesterday and also have a pension letter to show. So my questions: 1) Can i change from Tourist Visa to Non-Immigrant and then apply for the extension the same day? 2) Is it OK if the money was just transferred yesterday or do i need to have it in the bank 3 months? Max
December 7, 200619 yr 1) Can i change from Tourist Visa to Non-Immigrant yes and then apply for the extension the same day? no 2) Is it OK if the money was just transferred yesterday or do i need to have it in the bank 3 months? For the change of visa it is ok you just sent the money. For the extension, it needs to be in the Thai bank for 90 days. www.sunbeltasiagroup.com
December 7, 200619 yr Author Thank you very much for the detailed response. If i change my Visa, it will still expire next week, correct? I won't get another 90 days. Another question: 1) How many back-to-back Tourist Visas (3 months) can you get in Penang? Reason is, i already have 3 in a row, will they make problems if i apply for a 4th in a row or is that just a problem with Visa On Arrival? 2) If i go out and come back in with a 30 days Visa On Arrival, can that one be changed to Non-Immigrant as well? Thanks Edited December 7, 200619 yr by maxvx
December 7, 200619 yr Thank you very much for the detailed response. If i change my Visa, it will still expire next week, correct? Not correct I won't get another 90 days. You are mistaken, you will get 90 days. You are suppose to change it with at least 15 days left on the tourist visa. I would do asap. Another question:1) How many back-to-back Tourist Visas (3 months) can you get in Penang? Reason is, i already have 3 in a row, will they make problems if i apply for a 4th in a row or is that just a problem with Visa On Arrival? No one knows. It is up to Penang. 2) If i go out and come back in with a 30 days Visa On Arrival, can that one be changed to Non-Immigrant as well? yes www.sunbeltasiagroup.com
