December 28, 20169 yr I always tend to over engineer things. I will use screws when banging in a nail would have done and then maybe two screws just to be sure. So when the kids wanted a new bigger house for their pet hedgehogs I had visions of spending days with epoxy, super glue, contact adhesive and the like carefully gluing each piece in place and waiting for it to dry before adding the next bit. Getting too old for that kind of commitment on what will probably be a passing fad for the kids, so decided to give hot glue gun a try. I know hot glue has been around for long time but I never thought of taking it seriously, more for Blue Peter and sticky back plastic projects than for REAL jobs. Boy! Was I wrong, this hot glue is the beesknees. Does most of the things a variety of traditional glues will do and all without waiting for it to set/dry. Instant fix. and easily comes off you fingers. No more mixing tubes of glue together then waiting for it to dry or trying for days to get super glue off your fingers and the best part is you don't have to worry about putting the caps back on the tubes or remember to put the super glue in the fridge so it won't go off, just unplug the glue gun and i'ts ready to use for the next time. By using hot glue had the new hedgehog house finished in just a few hours - job done. Lots of ideas for hot glue on You tube that had never thought off, definitely my number one tool for round the house from now on. Best thing since sliced bread.
December 28, 20169 yr Hot glue and cable tie. What else does mankind need Thanks for the heads up about hot glue. I hesitated to buy a tool and glue until now. I should give it a try.

If it moves and it shouldn't - duct tape, if it doesn't move and it should - WD-40 Seriously, hot glue is great stuff for those jobs where superglue won't fill the gaps and epoxy or silicone is to slow and messy. @Daffy D Looks a nice job, I hope that hedgehog wheel is connected to a generator to charge the kids mobiles. Used to be you could fix most things with a screwdriver and hammer, now with cable ties and hot glue just about anything becomes fixable 4 hours ago, Crossy said: Duct tape and WD-40. Yea! add WD-40 and Duct tape to the fix everything toolbox, though I think duct tape is loosing out to quite a lot of jobs that can de done with hot glue and/or cable ties. Have yet to teach the hdgies about the wheel, doesn't seem to come naturally. Once they get the hang of it might connect a fan to it to keep them cool in the hot season, they can take it in turns to keep each other cool Crossy how do you get the @Daffy D in the blue box for replying?

If it moves and it shouldn't - duct tape, if it doesn't move and it should - WD-40 I had a friend who decided to use WD-40 on his lifted truck's starter motor because it wasn't moving. Got it moving again, but for over a year the starter shot off flames whenever he turned the key.

You think of everything "I hope that hedgehog wheel is connected to a generator to charge the kids mobiles. " You left out Scotch 33® but unfortunately as with duct tape the weather in Thailand isn't so kind to it. Have you found a good brand of duct tape in Thailand?
