The friends thing.... where's that gonne??? from one of the resons to go back????????? :D

So if you are not doing a course are retired etc...is that it no more thailand??? 3 months in 3 months out :o

Why are thy making it so difficullt???dont get that.all this talk aboat trying to sort out falang that work and dont have w.permits...still I know mates that still go there and work and dont have it..so is it really helpping?or is it just making it harder for people that have felt in love with thailand???hmmm I wonder any one else wonder aboat that???

Depends what "scuba" course you are talking about, if its the basic open water then no, it can be done in one week so easily completed on a tourist 30 day visa. If however you want to complete a master diver or divemaster course then you can apply for an educational visa not sure but you might need a sponsor from a dive school. There will always be a black economy of people that work without permits but they are cracking down and if caught face expulsion and blacklisting so they can never come back. These people want to work but not pay taxes etc that is why they are targeted. Have you ever tried to get a visa to visit UK? its even more difficult and after two visits a lot of Thais get refused a third visa so taking it all into account Thailand is still fairly relaxed with the 90 day rule.
