I just heard this news from a high ranking police office that Thailand has banned the sale of alcohol on 31st Dec-1st Jan ,if this is the case it will be a disaster for Thailand and all the people who came here .

Not heard any such directive, if it had been announced it would be the hottest topic on the forum.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

sounds fair enough if the government is serious about the country being in mourning for a year regardless of the potential adverse effects to the jobs of those working in the entertainment industry, tourism and the economy as a whole.

but to be honest the music and partying activities of the locals in my area are already back to pre-mourning levels.

always thought expecting the population to mourn for a year was an ambitious government objective.

So far nothing found on misc online sources (incl. public relations department).

If it is about "sales" it could affect selling from shops like stop selling after 31st, 14h or so. But pure speculation.

Complete alcohol ban for bars/hotels/restaurant nationwide would be crazy.

Its just speculation and trolling by certain people. No truth to this at all. I'm speaking from a business perspective and not from some rice paddy in Issan.

TV and its residents love this type of speculation.  Enjoy the New Year and disregard the utter bs that floats around on the net.

Come down and celebrate 2017, with 1,000 Thai Girls.

it always seems to be a high ranking police officer

Do TV members associate with any other type of police officer?

It is a meaningless, much bandied term intended to try to give a shred of credence to sheer, ludicrous, nonsense such as the OP here....

It can be stored on file along such other classic nonsenses as: 'non BG wife/GF, my professional Thai Friends...., my Thai/Chinese MBA wife......,' 'my high ranking military father in law'....etc.

Such devices are usually used by the TV fantasist type who see themselves as the pillars of society because their TEFL related 'high status' position once allowed them to shake hands with the mayor of whatever rat infested pissant burgh they infest.....

Maybe this is specific to the original poster

Maybe somebody was being wound up

Well if so; obviously it had the desired effect

Inflammatory posts and replies have been removed.

If there was going to be a ban on alcohol sales over the New Years holiday, I am sure there would have been a public announcement made by the authorities by now.

This topic is now closed as unsubstantiated speculation at this time.
