Twenty three Indian tourists saved after boat sinks off North Pattaya

PATTAYA: -- Two speedboats came to the rescue some two kilometers off the North Pattaya coast when a boat carrying 23 Indian tourists sank yesterday.

 

All aboard were saved as the boat developed a leak and quickly sank. Most of the Indian tourists had cuts and bruises sustained in the sinking and many were in shock, reports Thai News Agency.

 

The tourists were ferried to the area near the Dusit Hotel by two speedboats that took part in the rescue near the island of Koh Jun.

 

Authorities in Pattaya swiftly forbid small boats and speedboats from ferrying passengers to Koh Larn as high winds and heavy seas hit the area.

I won't go on ANY Thai boat, only the ones close to land i will use.

Ha.. I read the headline and thought, " They must be testing the new Pattaya-Hua Hin ferry"

 

 

Using any type of transport in Thailand is like playing Russian roulette 

So wouldI be assuming too much to say the boat that sank with 23 passengers and a driver was 'a small boat'?

Apparently, the boat hit a wave, which caused the hull to leak which sunk the boat.

But at least, the front didn't fall off - 'chance in a million' 

 

A gallon of petrol and a box of matches is the best remedy for those rotting heaps of plywood 

during the rescue the Indians sold 15 suits and 20 blouses.

117 of the 23 people saved said they would be making insurance claims.

Yup and, go in an orderly fashion, no bhajing cos its windaloo and the water is jalfreezing.

Wonderful isn't it. Come to Amazing Thailand for your holidays and get fished out of the sea after your crummy old boat sinks. Get dumped at the side of the highway by your tour bus driver. Get fined by immigration for not reporting your whereabouts every 24 hours. Get beaten unconscious by Thai thugs in bars and clubs when you object about paying padded bills.  

 

From all reports tourism numbers are way down this high season. Wonder why?

And in Thailand Russian roulette is played with a pistol. Thai prefer a Glock.

Thai police still wonder if Russian roulette is allowed by the Thai anti gambling laws.

Yes but that catamaran ain't cheap. It costs about the same as flying to Chiang Mai which is much further and much faster.
