hocuspocus
Does anyone know if the British Consulate in Chiang Mai is operational? I have tried the phone number: 053263015 which I got from Google and the recorded message said that this number is no longer in service. I have heard that the Consulate has moved and maybe the phone number has not been updated. But maybe the Consulate has shut down for Christmas and New Year (too bad if there is an emergency). Loaded
They closed the office in Chiang Mai so now you need to visit Bangkok to apply for a new passport and contact non-UK nationals to ask about UK consular services. This was all done to improve the service they offer to UK nationals residing in Thailand according to the ambassador. The Honorary Consul, Ben Svasti, is still around though. You can try contacting him via Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/BritHonConCM
jonwilly
Nothing left in CM ! They where very useful when I first came to CM back in 2001. Last I heard on Thai Visa, the Bangkok Embassy was being sold off, seems they did well when the sold off, the front strip on Sukhumvit. john

If they finally decided to sod off, they very likely had good reasons for doing it....
