They try to drive like an F1 driver on a straight piece of road as fast as they can and must be in front, but give them a corner, a roundabout, a junction, traffic lights or god forbid a piece of road with no lines - completely clueless.

I have never understood why they must always be at the front, it's not like a Thai has ever been on time for a meeting of any sorts!!:-)

This is true yet it always makes me wonder why most accelerate away from traffic lights so slowly. If I'm at the front I pull away quickly, like I always did in the UK, and may quickly be 50 or more metres in front of the car behind. I'm soon caught up though, as I reach "cruising" speed and the other drivers are still accelerating!

Are you driving one of these pick-ups which have the size of 6-wheel trucks?

Well, when I am behind one of these behemoth in my sedan I also want to be in front so I can see what is happening in front of me and don't have to wait and see what is going to happen next.

I like to make decisions myself and not wait for such a truck to do something stupid and wake up in a hospital.

For example these things are so big that they can not make a sharp turn or a u-turn in one go, a potential disaster in the making.

I'm not critisizing you, I critisize that they allow these things on the road.

Thus one of the reasons that I or someone else wants to be in front of these tanks.

You are completely missing the point.....not everybody can be at the front, although they sure try!

By your own admission you appear to be part of the problem, you dont need to be in front if you maintain a safe distance behind, just in case "such a truck" might "do something stupid".

So you are driving one of the oversized trucks and these are more part of the problem especially when driven by a farang with no clue about driving in Thailand.

A safe distance behind?:cheesy::cheesy::cheesy: Any opening in traffic will be occupied immidiately by another driver.

Any time I end up back such a oversized truck I will pass them and get in front, included your truck.

These trucks should be taken off the road, are from a time past when Thai roads were full of potholes and most were not better than dirt tracks, and yes I have experience about that time and was also driving a pick-up when I had to go up-country, not anymore as it is unneccessary now.

Your point? Your're not making any as you have no clue.

Completely selfish attitude, as long as you can get to the front never mind anybody else going about their daily business, as i already said, by your own admission you are part of the problem, obviously more so than you seem to understand, but as long as you are the front eh!!.

Quite scary to think there are actually people like you driving around with that sort of mindset, no wonder the statistics are so high.

It is you, as a Farang without a clue about driving in Thailand, who is the problem.

You come here with your holier than thou driving standards and expect the Thais to comply with them because in "my country" its done so. Well, I have news for you, this is Thailand and not your country, it is YOU have to comply with the Thai driving standards, not them with you.

I would expect Thais to drive to the standard of the Thailand Road Traffic Act, B.E. 2522 (1979).

That indeed would be a good start but it seems to be beyond the comprehension of some people.

Your responses are getting more and more ridiculous each time, i can only assume this is some sort of sarcastic wind up, if not then you are truly more to be pitied than laughed at!
