I am a foreign student at Assumption University and I have a visa valid until MArch , 2007 but my passport valid until 30/ 10 /2006.

My embassy hold my passport for making a new one until 15 /11/ 2006 . THe new passport is declared to be the replacement for the old one, however there is no stamp of visa in this passport.

HOwever, I had a new permanent citizen too.

Is this considered an overstay????

I dont have money for 20 000 baht so I ignore until now .

If it is overstay , I am fined and how much per day for passport expire ? ( 200 or 500

No worries, If you have a Visa in your old passport valid until March 2007 then you are allowed to stay freely until that time.

You can transfer that Visa to your new passport if you wish, otherwise if you ever need to prove your legality you show both the old and the new passport together. If you leave the country before March 2007 you show both passports.

the problem and fine would not be for an expired passport, but for not reporting your address every 90 days.

Don't you transfer the visa. Your embassy should have given you a letter to take to immigration. They'll put the old visa in your new passport.
