proof of residency german embassy

Featured Replies

Hello,

i need a proof of residency, coz next month i have to renewal my thai driving license.

A few years ago it was difficult already to get a proof of residency from the german embassy in bangkok, as i stayed only on a tourist visa.

Embassy told me i need a 1year non immigrant visa. Now i stay on a 1 year non immigrant visa B, but rules changend again.

Just coming back from the embassy, they told me they  give me only a  proof of residency if my B visa is supporting a work permit, which it isn´t.

I showed them all my documents, rental contract from my condo, bill from internet provider , and so on. But they send me away.

So now is the question what other options i have. Any other TV members facing this problem also? I am thinking about to take my documents and visit an immigration office in Pattaya,

Trat , or where ever and to ask for a proof of residency. I did this a few years ago already,  but for sure things changend also.

I am afraid it looks strange for an immigration officer, for example in pattaya or whereever, when i show up with a condo rental contract from bangkok.

Thank you for any advice...

If you can prove an address in Pattaya you could get certificate of residence at Jomtien immigration.
