Does  anyone  have  a  recent  experience   (since  the  fee  waiver)  obtaining  an  SETV  in  Sihanoukville?

I  am  in  Kampot  and  am  surprised  that  many  places  now  offer  visa  services.  But  they  continue  to  charge   $60  or  won't  deal  with  Thai  visas.

Thanks.

As above Ana travel can do it, they charge an additional $15 over the visa cost so now u might be able to get your SETV for ONLY $15 ( its free till Feb 28th)

$60 is not bad as thats cheaper than u going up to PP twice to get one.

This  took  an  amazing  amount  of  perseverance  and  patience.  I  found  ANNY  TRAVEL  here  in  Kampot  which  I  am  told  by  the  owner  Ana  that  it  is  the  same  as  Ana  Travel  in  Sihanoukville.  I  went  to  12  travel  agents  before  finding  her.  I  was  given  the   $15  price  that  you  mentioned,  Richard,  but  that  was  after  she  made  two  phone  calls  which  makes  me  wonder.  I  returned  the  next  day,  then  the  next  and  next,  sometimes  going  twice  a  day,  because  the  staff  is  unable  to  perform  visa  services.  I  was  almost  ready  to  give  up  but  about  day  7,  there  she  was!  Paperwork  was  done  yesterday  and  I  do  feel  a  little  nervous.  I  will  post  again  when  I  have  the  visa.

I  got  my  passport  back  yesterday  with  the  Thai  visa  attached.  I  don't  see  anywhere  on  the  visa  that  it  says  60  days.  It  does  say  "tourist"  under  type  of  visa.  Under  category  it  has  "TR".  I  have  no  idea  what  this  means.  I  do  hope  all  goes  well  when  I  cross  the  border  next  week.

Assuming you really do have a honest SETV visa the TR on there means "Tourist".

The letter S in the next box means "Single" for a single entry

Somewhere on that visa it should have the name of the consulate that issued it.

That should say Phenom Penh most likely.

When you enter Thailand they should stamp your passport with an entry stay stamp which will give you the  date you must leave Thailand.

That entry stay date should be 60 days from the date you enter Thailand, the day you enter is considered day 1 so the stamped date will probably be 59 days from the date you enter.

At the bottom of the visa it should say "Employment Prohibited".

i forgot to mention  that if your visa is valid it will also be stamped when you enter Thailand as "USED" meaning you used the single entry,

You may extend this visa, if valid, at your local immigration in Thailand for another 30 days by paying a 1900 baht extension fee.

The visa is valid for entry for 3 months from the date it is issued when you enter the country you will be given a 60 day permit to stay.

TR is an abbreviation for tourist.

it is 15USD if they send from outside.

Nowadays we had to add the Cambodian ID card and a phone number, so the Embassy call the applicant to verify the amount paid.

I phoned them because I would like to Go there on my next run maybe. They said $10 because it's free at the moment. Ticket out of Thailand and a bank statement with minimum $1000. I told them about my previous Tourist Visas and she said not certain I would get the visa .Then I said none of them are from that embassy and she said as long as I haven't been refused anywhere else it should be ok and it's a 4 day turn around.

Thank  you  all  who  responded.  This  was  my  first  time  applying  for  an  SETV   (and  my  first  time  ever  parting  with  my  passport!).  I  had  concerns  that  the  TR  meant  Transit,  so  special  thanks  for  the  clarification.  I  read  a  post  recently  where  someone  was  issued  a  transit  visa  which  was  not  what  he  wanted.

With  all  the  explanations  I  am  feeling  confident  this  visa  is  indeed  legitimate.  I  do  hope  this  helps  others  who  want  to  apply  here  in  Kampot.  Anny  Tours  and  Travel  by  the  old  market.  BUT  Anny  has  to  be  there.  I  had  to  provide  my  airline  ticket  and  one  photo  but  was  not  asked  for  a  bank  statement.  It  took  5  or  6  days  because  it  went  from  here  to  Sihanoukville  then  on  to  PP  and  same  in  reverse.

As  I  said,  I  went  to  at  least  12  other  places  and  they  still  charge  between   $55  &  $60.  Where  is  the  money  going?  Do  they  really  not  know  the  fee  was  waived  and  it  is  kept  by  the  Thai  Consulate?  Courier?  Agent?

What  is  Mottah,  finny?  Is  it  another  place  in  Kampot?
