Was wondering does anyone  know of any Kitchen Designers who will measure my kitchen out and  design a kitchen for me in Khon Kaen also suppliers i know of homepro , global house , do-home is there anywere else that sells good ranges of teak doors. Im wanting to put soild base with granite tops no wood bases just Teak doors . I,ll be buying my own cabinet doors and frames etc.  Also whats the going rate now for fitting the last time i checked it was 4000 baht for labour per metre from a kitchen fitter from global house 2015. regards Paul.  Picture below of the method i am thinking of using but open to better methods that will stop termite & water damage.

I "lost" a kitchen to termites some years back

Before fitting kitchen makes sure you can treat the area under and around where the cabinets will be, prevention is far easier than cure!

Concrete and teak is the way to go, jst make sure it is all teak including drawer bottoms etc.

Sorry dont know current prices and fitting costs

Good luck.

Thank you for the feedback . My floor is granite and im wanting to build on top of that. so should i treat the granite floor with a chemical formular to keep the termites away ?. Yeah i myself have had 2 salas destroyed by termites no more wood for me. hoping a member could fill me in on the going price for labour as i understand they charge by the metre labourer.

Depends on the construction off floor on how to treat for prevention of termites, is the floor "suspended" on concrete planks? if so hopefully you have nozzles underneath that can be hooked up to spray chemicals under the floor void, if the floor is laid directly onto the "ground with no void it may be advisable to drill through granite in areas that will be covered by cabinets and inject chemicals if not done already, though if you are only going to use quality materials like teak it may be overkill, though I would do it! Depends what was done when the house was constructed? Termite infestation is bad in Isaan so generally they do take some measures.

Cheers for that info CGW . i had the marble floor removed and relaid granite through the entire house ground floor plan. It was laid straight off ground concrete then screed and granite no injection system was installed for treating the floor for termites. Wish i had known about this before i renewed the ground floor. So the best thing would be to get the floor drilled and injected behind the kitchen bases. Who would be the best person to contact about this drilling and injecting a pest control company ?. im going to build bases with concrete then only use teak for the doors and frames i was going to get concrete shelfs inside the double base units with tiling throughout the inside of the cabinets. thanks for the information its getting me a better clearer look of what i want to do.

If you decide on the injection most pest control companies do it, its their last resort when folks have infestation that they cant get rid off, I had to get a whole house done years back, didn't look great but did work.

Call a couple of companies there may be better ways of managing problem now? get a few quotes and insist on guarantee!

Cheers

I hired a termite service in 2016 based in Surin who have sales offices at several Thai Watsadu Stores. They installed pipes and nozzles under my home and three times a year pump appropriate pesticide under the home. Fipronil was the better option for my Isaan family and pets. I bought and had installed interior and exterior granite kitchen counters with tiled interiors of the cabinets at a Buriram Builders Merchants Store. The Diamond Kitchen counters were delivered to my home, and set up in one morning. The granite installer was highly recommended and worth the money. He took a week to custom cut the granite counter tops, back splash and facing in both the Thai outside kitchen and the western interior kitchen in Buriram.

Hi David. you say They installed pipes and nozzles under my home and three times a year pump appropriate pesticide under the home.  Did they have to take the whole floor up inside the house to install the new pipes and noozels or was it done externally outside the house. Just ive had a new whole granite floor fitted to the whole ground floor plan of my house and don,t want to have that broke up and relaid new again. Thanks for the input . regards

Leekman:  The termite control company installed the pipes and nozzles onto the ground beams of the home PRIOR to the very first precast floor beams being installed. They installed their pipes and nozzles months prior to the completion of the home. I had blue masking tape placed on every nozzle and motivated a construction worker to remove the blue masking tape at a later date. I selected the termite control firm early in the house build.
